전설 Legend: 이불 Lee Bul

이불 

이불이 퍼포먼쓰를 시작한 무렵에 행위예술인들의 모임이 
종종 있었는데, 그 중 한 이가 종로의 대학로에 다방을 내고 
있어서, 거기를 아지트 삼아 모이곤 하였다.

그 해의 크리스마스가 돌아오자 파티도 여기서 하게 되었는데,
누군가 우리는 행위예술가들답게 가장무도회로 하자고 하였다.
그래서 모두들 성탄전야에 가장을 하고 모이기로 하였다.

당일에, 집이 당시만 해도 시골인 경기도 원당이던 이불은 
성탄축하 가장무도회 차림으로, 사람들의 주목 속에 버스와 
지하철을 갈아타며 파티장에 도착하였다.

그런데 다방 문을 열고 들어가 보니, 
그 날 가장을 하고 온 이는 이불 혼자 뿐이었다.

Lee Bul

Korean performance artists had frequent gatherings around the period when Lee Bul began performing. Amongst them, an artist owned a club in Daehak-ro, Seoul, and it became a place of gathering. 
Someone suggested that since they are the performance artists, hold a masquerade party for Christmas that year in the very same club. Everybody agreed to gather for Christmas Eve in costume.
At that time, Lee Bul lived in the rural district of Wondang in Gyeonggi-Province. 
To attend the Christmas party, she had to take the public transportation in her masquerade costume, attracting the public eye. But when she arrived at the club, she found out that she was the only one disguised for the party.
