Arakichō, located in Tokyo's Shinjuku ward, is a historic dining and nightlife district famous for its winding alleys and bowl-like topography. Formerly an Edo-period samurai estate and a Geisha flower town, the neighborhood now packs over 200 tiny izakaya, bars, and Michelin-rated restaurants.
- Muchi-no-Ike (formerly Saku-no-Ike) pond, situated at the bottom of the crater-like basin, surrounded by the remnants of the old Geisha district.
