The « Gregory S. Maass » is conceived as a miniature monument.
To be able to recognize the artist the society is claiming certain conditions.
The artist himself must fulfill these demands in order to be recognized as such. The artist is free by definition but paradoxically destined to follow peculiar directives, which is creating a difficult position. This work is representing the various levels of the artist’s role, Contradictory and an irony of the miniature monument’s heroic role, the functioning of the art piece as a decoration and it’s function as a puppet. While playing with the puppet »Gregory S. Maass » the social claim is not directly directed towards the person but towards it’s double: the puppet.
The gadget is a work of the artist, a justification for the society of the artistic production. The gadget does not represent a real sculpture, it is project and realization, it is representing the production and product, a relation, and a creative potentiality.
This puppet gives the spectator the chance to identify through the android of Gregory S. Maass, anti-stigmatic and monotype of timeless good-health.

What it is, a description :
It is three dimensional representation of a scheme often depicted, commented on and variations in hand drawings of Gregory S. Maass. A tautological scheme of the possibility of an abstract sculpture per se. A three dimensional abstract shape, built out of interconnected triangles positioned on a wooden plate with wheels. A parable for the unity of objects and the multiplicity of different shapes offered by synthetic geometry. It ambulates from points, straight lines and plains as elements and constitutes the higher shapes as complexes of these elements. The constitution occurs in different steps and the shapes of various steps differ essentially from each other. Thereby all statements about these shapes are basically statements about the elements. Therefore also different types of objects but nevertheless an integrative field of objects from which all emerge.

La poupée “Gregory S. Maass” est conçu comme monument –miniature.
La société a certaines demandes envers l´artiste pour pouvoir le reconnaître comme artiste. Lui-même doit remplir les tâches qu´on lui pose.
L´artiste est libre par définition mais paradoxalement destiné à suivre certaines directives, ce qui crée une position tendue.
Ce travail représente les différentes couches de la rôle d´artiste contradictoires
et une ironisation de la rôle du monument héroique et le fonctionnement de l´œuvre d´art comme décoration et du fonctionement de la poupée.
En jouant avec la poupée « Gregory S. Maass » la demande sociale ne se dirige pas directement à la personne mais à son double : sa figurine.
Le gadget (l´appareil) est l´œuvre de l´artiste, une justification de la production artistique pour la société. L´appareil ne représente pas une véritable sculpture, il est projet et réalisation , il est répresentant de la production et produit, une rélation et une potentialité créative.
Ce robot donne aux spectateurs une chance d´identification à travers l´androide de Gregory S. Maass, anti-stigmatique et mono-type de bon santé sans fin.
