Making_Alfred Hitchcock in Guilin, 2006

Dimension: 306x90x177cm
In its basic form it reminds of a model landscape of a railway model. It is a complex and penetrating plywood construction. The analytical view will recognize an underlying landscape whose surface is described by the contour of the diagonally criss-crossing lamellae only. Geometrically meandering serpentines run through the relief in two layers whose levels are interconnected by spirals.
Different from the model, this work does not commit itself to a lifelike simulation of landscape.
It rather seems constructive in its style and accurate in execution.
