라면에서 과학 찾기 (Seeking science in Ramen): YeonWha Kim at TEDxBusan
근대의 유명한 과학적 성과는 대중 앞에서 발표되었습니다만, 현대 과학은 일반인이 접근하기 어려운 전문영역이 되고 말았습니다. 연구실 바깥의 평범한 사람들은 대개 과학기술을 도구로 활용하거나 또는 연구결과에 대해 감탄하며 숭배할 뿐입니다. 그렇다면 우리는 연구결과 발표를 수용하기만 하면 되는 것일까요? 오늘날 실험실에서 과학은 어떻게 만들어지는 것일까요?
김연화씨는 연극을 통해 과학이 어떻게 만들어지고 어떻게 작동하는지를 보여주려 합니다.
근대의 유명한 과학적 성과는 대중 앞에서 발표되었습니다만, 현대 과학은 일반인이 접근하기 어려운 전문영역이 되고 말았습니다. Ordinary people outside science laboratories take science as a tool for technology or only admire and worship scientists and their studies. 그렇다면 우리는 연구결과 발표를 수용하기만 하면 되는 것일까요? 오늘날 실험실에서 과학은 어떻게 만들어지는 것일까요?
This situation led YeonWha Kim to try performing a play as a medium for showing how science works.

김연화는 포항공대 화학, 서울대 과학철학 과학사회학 협동과정을 전공했다. 동료들과 '뮤즈S'라는 그룹을 만들어 과학과 대중이 만나게 하는 여러가지 실험을 하고 있으며 '라면 앙상블'이라는 연극도 그 하나다.
About Speaker:
Yeonwha Kim studied chemistry at Pohang University of Science and Technology and then moved to Seoul National University to study in an interdisciplinary program between sociology of science and philosophy of science. She organized a group, called 'Muse S' with her colleague, conducting a variety of experiments that constitute the linkages between the science and the public. One of the examples is a play, 'Ramen ensemble.'
