김나영은 자기가 평소에 알고 지내던 작가들의 일화로 구성된 '전설'이라는 제하의 책을 직접 디자인, 제작하여 전시하는 형태의 작업을 선보이고있다. 많은 경우 일화가 미술가의 작업으로 발전해가고 있음을 간파한 작가가 미술가와 미술작품 사이의 추상적 공간에 주목하여 제작한 이작품은 메타미술, 곧 미술에 대한 미술이라는 구조를 갖게 된다. 이처럼 '한국 현대미술이란 무엇인가?"라는 질문과 함께 '역사'의 한 귀통이를 들쳐보는 행위로 특정지어지는 이작품은 그 형식과 구조 자체로서 이미 현대미술에 대한 작가의 답변을 드러낸다. 출판 행위와 전시 행위, 관람자의 열람행위, 그리고 판매행위로 이뤄지는 이 작품은 미술이 일상의 매커니즘에 관여하는 방식과 태도에 대한 새로운 모델을 제시하고 있다.

Nayoungim's work is exhibited through "Legends", her personally designed and produced book, which is composed of necdotes of artists around her whom she knows. The artist, realizing that an anecdote depends on it's quantity, develops it into a piece of work by perceiving the abstract space that exists between an artist and a work of art. This work possesses the structure of Meta Art, in other words, art about art. As with the question, "What is Korean Contemporary Art?" this work uncovers a part of the 'history' of Korean Contemporary Art. The work in its form and structure unveils the artist's response to contemporary art. It is composed of the acts of publishing, the acts of exhibiting, the view's acts of viewing, and the acts of retailing which presents a new model on methods and attitudes that art takes in the daily mechanics of life.
