MICHELANGELO ANTONIONI

IL MAESTRO DEL CINEMA MODERNO

A pioneer of modern cinema, Michelangelo Antonioni won international fame with films such as La signora senza camelie(1953), Blowup (1966), Zabriskie Point (1970), and his famous trilogy L’avventura (1960), La notte (1961), and L’eclisse (1962), featuring his favourite actress, the splendid Monica Vitti. The exhibition includes film excerpts, photographs, original screenplays, letters, and paintings by the director himself. An opportunity to explore Antonioni’s oeuvre and his intimate world via material from his personal archives that has never been seen before in Belgium. A CINEMATEK retrospective, organised from 4 July until 30 August in conjunction with the exhibition, means that you can also see his finest films again.
